| 3 - Minute Cases:
In sudden cardiac arrest, it is possible to save a life only within the first 3 minutes with the help of
a CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). But, even in the highly advanced and developed USA where it is widely used not more than 5% of patients are saved.
American inventors have came up with a handy electronic device, an "Automated External Defibrillator"
(AED), which is an advanced CPR machine and can save lives in 50% of the cases.
This instrument is prohibitively expensive costing over Rs.
1.3 lakhs in India.
