Heart disease and stroke are the no. 1 killers all over the world. In the USA 3,50,000 people die of heart attacks every year - in India the number is a staggering 25,00,000. In Bombay city alone, more than 20,000 lose their lives every year - 2,500 every day or one life every 33 seconds.

Shocked by these figures, the American Heart Association (AHA) and other concerned bodies came up with the "Chain of Survival", a concept of categorization that advocates emergency access to medical help for 3, 30 and 300 minute cases.
